    Anilao is the general term used to identify the two barangays located in Mabini, Batangas of the coast of the Philippine islands. It faces the Maribacan Island and is geographically located on the island of Luzon, more specifically at Calumpang Peninsula’s end. The municipality of Mabini, named after revolutionary Filipino hero ApolinarioMabini, has the Balayan Bay to its west and the Batangas Bay to its east, with a current population of 40,629 people and 7,025 homes. Anilao is a frequent tourist spot for people interested in water sports and activities more particularly diving and snorkeling, as its lush underwater greenery and sea wildlife makes for an underwater paradise experience.

    Anilao is frequented by budget divers as it provides a beautiful diving experience on an affordable budget. There is a wide selection of diving centers and available charters for tourists to choose from, these include the popular diving spots such as around the Maricaban Islands and Sombrero and in Cape Bagalangit in the Balayan Bay. There are also snorkeling areas available at the Sepok Point, Maricaban’s Cemetery Beach and the Red Palm Beach.

  • Best Time to Dive

    The best time to experience diving in Anilao is between the months of November and June since the months from July to October is the country’s rainy season. It is during this time that you can experience warm water temperature and an up to 30 meter visibility.

  • Getting There and Around

    Take any International flight to the Philippines and find Anilao a 2 and a half hour drive from Manila through the South Luzon Expressway. Airport Transfer services are available upon request with the accommodations. Otherwise, private vehicles may be directly arranged from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila and at domestic airports in Anilao.

    By public transportation, simply travel to the bus station at LRT-Gil Puyat and take a bus that has the signboard Batangas City. Depending on the bus you select, there are many routes to get to Batangas. It is important to make sure that the signboard on the bus specifically says Batangas City. Drop off at Batangas city in the town of Bolbok and take a local jeepney to Anilao, Mabini. There are many hotels and resorts available in the area and you can take a tricycle or car to the resort of your choice.
